03 /your inbox, your choice.newsletter signup has its own opt-in.

01 / who we are

hello. we’re idio.

Idio Creative, based in Virginia, United States, is responsible for the information handled through this website. Contact us about privacy at idiocreative@outlook.com.

This notice describes this website, browser storage, inquiries, newsletter signup, and subscription records. It does not replace any separate privacy terms provided for client projects or contracts. We do not currently run accounts, online checkout, advertising pixels, or analytics scripts.

02 / information & purposes

what comes with a visit.

  • Technical delivery and security: the hosting provider serving the site receives your IP address, requested URL, request time, browser information, and response details to deliver files, diagnose faults, and protect the service. The site is configured for Hostinger and Vercel; the provider receiving a request depends on the domain you visit. Hosting services may generate request statistics from these logs. We do not install visitor analytics scripts or advertising trackers.
  • Browser choices: your storage preference and its dates. If you accept the shorter intro, that preference selects “make it yours”, followed by “make it idio”, on homepage visits. These records stay in your browser; our code does not send them to Idio.
  • Newsletter signup and records: when you submit the form with its opt-in box checked, your email address and newsletter choice are sent to Brevo. Brevo also receives connection information such as your IP address to process and protect the service, and may hold consent or confirmation records and delivery status.
  • Messages you send us: your email address, name if supplied, message, and any attachments or project details you choose to send. We use these to respond, discuss work, and manage the resulting relationship.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we use consent for the optional shorter intro and newsletter marketing. We process inquiries to take steps toward a contract at your request, or rely on our legitimate interest in answering other correspondence. Our legitimate interests in delivering a working website, diagnosing faults, and preventing abuse support technical processing where permitted. Remembering your acceptance or rejection makes it possible to respect your choice. Records required by a specific legal obligation are kept on that basis. We do not use this site for automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

Providing inquiry details is voluntary; without a reply address and enough information about your request, we may be unable to respond. Neither browser-storage acceptance nor a newsletter subscription is required to contact us or browse the site.

Do not send sensitive personal information or confidential credentials through newsletter signup or an initial inquiry.

03 / cookies & browser storage

a little memory.
a real choice.

Our website code does not set HTTP cookies. It uses localStorage, a different kind of browser storage. Privacy rules can apply to both, so our “cookie settings” control covers this storage too.

What this website stores in your browser
RecordPurpose & controlDuration
idio-privacy-v1Remembers acceptance or rejection, notice version, and choice dates. A valid acceptance selects the shorter homepage intro. Saved when you choose; not used for tracking.180 days. An expired or invalid record is removed when the site next checks it.

We no longer store a separate intro visit timestamp. Old idio-home-loader-v1 records are removed when the site next loads, where browser access permits.

Your browser may keep ordinary HTTP copies of public images, fonts, and other files to deliver the site efficiently. We no longer create a separate service-worker media cache. On returning browsers, a migration removes our old idio-site-* caches and retires the old worker where browser access permits.

We do not install analytics, marketing pixels, third-party social embeds, or cross-site tracking on this website. Social buttons are links; the other website’s practices apply after you follow one.

04 / your choices

you’re in control.

Accept optional storage, reject it, or save a customized choice. Accept and reject are equally available. Rejecting does not prevent you from browsing or contacting us. With a valid opt-in, homepage visits show “make it yours”, then “make it idio”. Without it, visits show the full intro.

The full intro is enabled unless a valid acceptance for the shorter intro was previously saved in this browser.

Open cookie settings →

Closing the first popup with × or Escape rejects optional storage. Closing settings after making a choice keeps the saved choice. You can withdraw acceptance at any time by reopening settings and choosing Reject optional. That restores the full intro for future homepage visits in this browser; other open tabs update when the browser delivers the change. An intro already playing finishes its current sequence.

We ask again after 180 days or if you clear your preference. Choices apply to this site origin, browser, and browser profile—not automatically to other devices. Private browsing may discard them. If saving fails, the shorter intro remains off for the current page and we explain how to continue.

Without JavaScript or a supported dialog: the shorter intro is not applied. Without JavaScript, the page opens without the animated loader. Use your browser’s site-data controls to remove existing Idio storage. Clearing site data also removes your saved rejection, so the popup can appear again. Contact us if you need help.

Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track: we do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or track visitors across websites, regardless of these signals. The signals do not subscribe you to email or turn on the shorter intro.

05 / newsletter & email

your inbox is yours.

Our optional newsletter sends Idio news and event emails through Brevo. The signup box is unchecked by default. Submitting with that box checked requests a subscription; accepting browser storage does not subscribe you.

Unsubscribe using the button below, the link in a marketing email, or contact idiocreative@outlook.com. You can also ask about an existing subscription or withdraw permission for email measurement separately.

Brevo processes signup, subscription, delivery, security, and consent records. Emails may contain open-tracking pixels or measured links, depending on their campaign settings; browser cookie settings do not control those emails. Newsletter consent and shorter-intro consent do not grant permission for individual email tracking. See Brevo’s Privacy Policy.

If Brevo sends a confirmation email, follow its instructions to complete signup. Our on-page acknowledgment confirms receipt of a request, not ownership of your email address or confirmed membership. Without JavaScript, the form submits directly to Brevo and may take you to its website; that provider’s own notices and controls apply there.

Unsubscribing stops marketing but does not necessarily delete your contact record. Request deletion separately if that is what you want. A limited suppression record may be needed to avoid sending further marketing.

06 / providers & transfers

who helps things run.

  • Hostinger and Vercel: website hosting, file delivery, diagnostics, and security, depending on the domain visited. Read Hostinger’s Privacy Policy and Vercel’s Privacy Notice.
  • Brevo: newsletter forms, contact management, consent records, email delivery, and service security.
  • Email providers: when you write to our Outlook address, Microsoft and your email provider process the communication. Read Microsoft’s Privacy Statement.

Idio is based in the United States. Correspondence sent to us is handled there, and our providers may process information in other countries through their infrastructure and subprocessors. Hosting regions and onward processing depend on the service and account arrangement; a public website does not mean that every visitor’s information stays in their country.

Hostinger’s Data Processing Addendum and Vercel’s Data Processing Addendum describe contractual transfer protections, including European Commission standard contractual clauses where applicable. The mechanism applicable to a particular transfer must be checked against the relevant provider agreement, processing location, and law; these links do not establish that every account arrangement has been verified. Contact us to request information about the destinations and safeguards for your information, or a copy of applicable safeguards with unrelated confidential details removed. Accepting optional browser storage is not consent to an international transfer.

Information may also be disclosed where required by law, to respond to lawful requests, or where necessary to protect legal rights and service security. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

07 / retention & security

only for a purpose.

Different records have different lifetimes. Except for the browser preference’s fixed expiry, we use the following criteria to decide when a record is still needed; we do not keep information solely because storage is available.

  • Browser preference: 180 days, with invalid or expired records removed when the site next checks them. You can clear site data sooner.
  • Inquiries: for the active conversation and any related proposal. Once those purposes end, deletion or anonymization depends on whether a particular record is still needed for a contract, unresolved complaint, legal claim, or legal obligation.
  • Newsletter contacts: for the subscription while valid permission remains. Withdrawal stops marketing; any remaining record must be limited to consent evidence, an unresolved request, a legal requirement, or suppression of future unwanted messages.
  • Suppression and request records: the minimum address and status needed to honor an objection or unsubscribe, and the minimum request history needed to demonstrate its handling or resolve a dispute. These records are not a new marketing list.
  • Hosting logs and backups: provider-controlled delivery, diagnostics, security, recovery, and deletion schedules. A deletion from an active system may remain in a restricted backup until that backup expires. Provider-specific periods and any legally required exceptions depend on the relevant service arrangement.

You can ask which retention criterion applies to a particular record or request deletion. Where a legal obligation or unresolved claim prevents deletion, we explain the applicable reason and limit further use to that purpose.

The website restricts executable content and external connections. No system can guarantee absolute security. Contact idiocreative@outlook.com about a privacy or security concern; do not include passwords or other credentials. Security and backup arrangements controlled by a provider are described in its own terms.

08 / your privacy rights

let’s put you first.

Depending on your location and the law that applies, you may have rights to information about processing, access, correction, deletion, a portable copy, withdrawal of consent, objection or restriction, and an appeal or complaint. Some rights have exceptions. Withdrawal does not undo processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

Send a request to idiocreative@outlook.com with the request and the address you used to contact or subscribe to us. You can also ask through an authorized representative where the law allows. We may need proportionate verification before releasing or deleting information. Do not send identity documents unless specifically requested through an appropriate process.

We handle requests under applicable law and its deadlines, and do not deny ordinary website access because you exercise privacy rights. If you disagree with our response, reply asking for a review. You can also contact the privacy regulator or other competent authority in your jurisdiction, including your Canadian federal or provincial authority or Brazil’s ANPD where applicable.

Object to direct marketing: unsubscribe from an email or write to us with the subject “Stop marketing”. You may also object to processing based on legitimate interests where applicable. Ask for a review of a refusal using the subject “Privacy appeal”; include the original request date, without resending unnecessary personal information.

For regulator information, see the EEA supervisory authorities, the UK Information Commissioner, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, and Brazil’s ANPD. US state rights and appeal routes depend on the law and whether its applicability requirements are met. These links do not limit rights under other applicable laws.

09 / children’s privacy

a note for younger visitors.

This business website and newsletter are intended for adults, not directed to children, and do not knowingly seek children’s personal information. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us so we can review it and take appropriate deletion or other protective action. Do not submit a child’s personal details through the newsletter form.

10 / changes & contact

keep the conversation open.

We update this notice as the website and our practices change and show the revision date at the top. New optional browser purposes require a new choice before activation. For material changes to other processing, we provide any additional notice or consent required by applicable law.

This development notice describes the features currently implemented. It does not authorize future analytics, advertising, payments, or other collection. Those features need their own review and updated controls before they are enabled.
